Greenhouse operators need intelligent automation to optimize irrigation, shading, and climate control. Traditional PLC systems are costly and complex, while IoT-based edge controllers like the BL192Pro Edge I/O provide a more flexible, cost-efficient solution.
Solution Configuration
BL192Pro Edge I/O with expansion boards:
Y21 (Digital Output) for pump control
Y24 (Relay Output) for curtain motor control
Y33 (Analog Input) for soil moisture and light intensity
Weather data via Modbus TCP (Ethernet)
MQTT connectivity for cloud-based SCADA or mobile monitoring
Logic Control
If weather forecast humidity > 80% → Disable irrigation pump (DO1=0).
If soil moisture < 40% and light intensity > 1500 Lux → Enable pump (DO1=1).
If light intensity > 1800 Lux → Close relay output (activate curtain motor).
Expected Benefits
Smart Irrigation: Automatic watering only when crops need it, reducing water waste.
Crop Protection: Shade curtains automatically deployed under strong sunlight.
Seamless Integration: MQTT uplink ensures data is visible in SCADA, cloud, or farmer’s mobile app.
Edge Logic Processing: BL192Pro executes rules locally, ensuring real-time response even if the cloud is offline.
Why BL192Pro?
Supports MQTT, Modbus TCP, OPC UA – flexible for IoT and SCADA systems.
Modular design: up to 3 expansion slots (DI, DO, AI, AO, Relay, RTD, etc.).
Industrial-grade reliability: -40 to 85°C operation, EMC/EMI tested.
Built-in web server for easy logic programming without PLCs.
